Smart Ek – Healthcare Platform built from scratch
Stages
Goal
The goal was to create a user-friendly digital healthcare platform that simplifies the process of booking appointments, accessing medical records, and interacting with clinics. It had to be scalable, accessible across devices, and designed with clarity and trust in mind — key aspects in the medical field.
Result
The result is a fully designed MVP with scalable UI components, ready for development integration. The design ensures a smooth user journey, especially for non-tech-savvy users and supports future product growth.
Research & Discovery
Before jumping into UX flows, we conducted a brief research phase to better understand user expectations and product requirements.
We analyzed:
- user behavior patterns in digital healthcare platforms,
- common usability issues with booking and profile management,
- competitor approaches and pain points in the industry.
These insights helped shape our UX architecture and informed every interaction — from navigation logic to interface simplicity.
UX Approach
With a clear understanding of user needs, we mapped out the key flows of the platform: onboarding, doctor search, booking appointments, and accessing health records.
Each flow was designed to minimize friction and cognitive load. We focused on guiding users naturally through actions while reducing unnecessary steps — especially important in healthcare, where clarity and trust are vital.
UI Design & Accessibility
Visually, the platform was designed to feel calm, clean, and professional.
We used a soft color palette, open spacing, and large touch targets to support users across all age groups and devices.
The design is fully responsive — with thoughtful adjustments for mobile — and follows accessibility best practices such as clear visual hierarchy, high contrast, and intuitive layouts.
Design System & Delivery
We developed a scalable UI kit in Figma, complete with reusable components, typography tokens, and layout grids.
Everything was documented and organized for a clean developer handoff — saving time and reducing back-and-forth in implementation.

We followed a structured 7-step workflow to deliver the full design process:
1. Research & Analysis – defining user needs and market patterns
2. Wireframing – building early layouts for validation
3. UI Design – creating clean and responsive visual interfaces
4. Interactive Prototyping – preparing clickable flows in Figma
5. Style Guide Development – defining scalable design language
6. Asset Preparation – organizing files for development
7. Final Support & Handoff – assisting the dev team and polishing last details
